BUDGET HEARING
BOARD OF EDUCATION
MONDAY, August 14, 2006

The special meeting of the West Franklin USD #287 Board of Education was held Monday, August 14, 2006, at the Education Center in Pomona, Kansas to address the budget.   The following board members were present:   Mrs. Sheila Anderson, Mr. Neal Baker, Mr. Randy Hermreck, Mr. Keith Milliken, Mrs. Mary Ann Parkin, and Mrs. Nancy Reed (6:35 pm).   Administrators and staff present were:   Superintendent Susan Myers, Board Clerk Teresa Hawkins, Principal Rick Smith, and Curriculum Director Andy Azwell.   Others present:   David Staley, Louis Coppoc, and Robin Nitcher

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm by President, Neal Baker.

Superintendent Susan Myers presented the proposed budget for 2006-07.   Dr. Myers presented an explanation of several areas of the budget.   She also explained the Budget at a Glance document and the attached charts.

Mary Ann Parkin made a motion to adopt the 2006-07 District Budget for West Franklin USD #287 as presented.   Nancy Reed seconded the motion.   Motion passed 6-0

Neal Baker made a motion to adjourn the budget hearing.   Keith Milliken seconded the motion.   Motion passed 6-0
