A special meeting of the West Franklin USD #287 Board of Education was held for evaluation of certified staff at the Education Center in Pomona, Kansas on Wednesday, February 11, 2004. Board members present were: President Neal Baker, Mrs. Mary Ann Parkin, Mrs. Janie Dillon, Mr. Randy Hermreck, Mr. Jeff Piersol and Mrs. Nancy Reed (7:30). Also present were Dr. Susan Myers, Superintendent, Williamsburg Principal Tracy Maring, Appanoose Principal Rick Smith, Pomona Elementary/Middle School Principal Jody Cole, Pomona High School Principal Royce Powelson, and deputy clerk Cherree Keeton.

President Neal Baker called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

Neal Baker made a motion for the board to enter executive session at 7:05 p.m. for one hour for evaluation of certified staff. Justification of the executive session is to protect the privacy interests of identifiable individuals. Randy Hermreck seconded the motion and the motion passed 5-0.

Neal Baker made a motion for the board to enter executive session at 8:05 p.m. for another thirty-five minutes. Motion was seconded by Jeff Piersol. The motion passed, 6-0.

Mary Ann Parkins made another motion at 8:40 to go back into executive session for an additional five minutes. It was seconded by Neal Baker and passed, 6-0.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
